Internal Auditor Position (posted May 6, 2024)

Position Summary: Fast-paced position with numerous deadlines which must be met. May require work beyond 40 hours per week when compliance Consultant is on site; to complete quarterly and year end reports and other duties; to complete audits on schedule; prior to and during examinations; and at other times.

Qualification/ Requirements

  • College Degree with business emphasis or minor preferred
  • 5 years Professional and/or Banking experience in audit, compliance, or accounting preferred (may substitute for the above noted Business Degree)
  • Ability to read current and forthcoming regulations and determine applicability to the bank to assist with implementation, policy and procedure writing and updates; and to conduct audits
  • Understanding of accounting and internal controls to complete internal audits
  • Ability to work under time constraints
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Computer proficient (Excel and Word at a minimum)
  • Ability to complete special projects and prepare reports for Management and board presentations with little guidance
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Internal Audits
  • Compliance Audits (To include Flood Audits, TRID Audits, HMDA Audits)
  • Working directly with Compliance Consultant on all Compliance matters (Audits, Policy revision and writing assistance for various Compliance Specialists in the Bank, training, assistance with new regulation implementation, etc.)
  • Flood Insurance Review prior to Loans in Flood Plane being booked
  • Real Estate Appraisal and Evaluation Reviews
  • Review of Allowance for Loan Loss Quarterly Analysis and Quarterly for the Board Directors
  • Track and Follow-up on Exam and Audit Findings
  • Assist in gathering information for outside audits and examinations
  • Quarterly Internal Audit and Compliance Audit Committee Reports
  • Training Officer
  • Ensure compliance training is conducted
  • Maintain training records

Interpersonal Relationships

Develop and maintain good employee relations throughout the bank.

Employee contact with customers, the public and the community will be maintained at a professional level.

Adherence to the Bank’s CRA Program.
